Happy Halloween from Olliffe!
Tomorrow is Friday, October 31st—a date that’s typically known as Halloween. This year, however, October 31st is GAME SIX OF THE WORLD SERIES, and it’s happening in Toronto with the Blue Jays ahead by one. What a time to be alive!
In case you’re as excited/distracted by this development as we are, here are a few important reminders:
- Buy candy for trick-or-treaters. They’re going to show up at your house no matter what.
- Give extra candy to kids dressed as Toronto Blue Jays. It’s good luck, probably.
- No candy for kids dressed as Dodgers. (We’re totally joking, but also: read the room, kids!)
- Remember to feed your family tomorrow night. It’s a huge game, but your children still need to eat dinner. Tonight more than ever, you don’t need hangry kids!
- If you haven’t entered The Olliffe World Series Giveaway yet, click here to get all of the details. You can enter on Facebook or Instagram. The contest will remain active until a World Series Champion has been crowned, and we’ll announce the giveaway winner on Tuesday.
Now, onto a few food-related notes…
Easy meals for Halloween night
Halloween is all about easy, nutritious meals that fuel your night and help offset the candy you may or may not consume throughout the evening. We recommend a hearty slow cooker meal or one of our delectable prepared dishes: lasagna, beef bourguignon, chicken pot pie, cottage pie or a rotisserie chicken, for example. Enjoy!
Delicious food for game time
Looking for some tasty game day snack ideas? Consider these ballpark hot dogs, some chicken wings, pulled pork sliders or saucy pork ribs. We have even more to choose from in store—please visit our Yonge Street butcher shop to see what’s available!
Happy Halloween & LET’S GO, BLUE JAYS!
Cheers to a big night—we hope it’s one that goes down in history. Have a safe and happy Halloween with your loved ones, and GO JAYS! Let’s bring it home.
